All-New Amaze and Dzire – What to Expect?

The next-gen Amaze is expected to use the same platform as the City and Elevate but with a slightly shorter wheelbase. The design will probably be inspired by the bigger Honda sedans sold abroad along with a thoroughly updated interior to stay competitive. Apart from that, the new Amaze is also expected to sport a larger, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system from the Elevate while other components in the cabin will be shared with other Honda India cars.

On the other hand, the new Dzire’s exterior will be similar to the newly launched 4th generation Swift. The sedan will get a thorough update from the inside making it more modern and loaded with features including a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen, a sunroof which is a segment-first, refreshed HVAC controls and a new yet familiar dashboard. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire will also get 6 airbags as standard across all variants although expect the Dzire to be based on the Heartect platform and share similar dimensions as the outgoing car.

Coming to the powertrain, the New-gen Amaze is expected to retain its 1.2-litre Z-series 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT. Meanwhile, the Dzire will get the new 1.2-litre Z series 3-cylinder petrol engine that will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT along with a better mileage output of around 24-25 kmpl.
